Pre-arrivals & Invitations
We gild lilies.
This view master was sent to invitees for a conference in the aloha state. We designed a fully-printed shipping box with stacked interior layers to create a dimensional Hawaiian scene. We laser-cut each of the pieces of the landscape to create this 3D illusion. The layers held the branded view master in place, which included a reel with photos of activities offered at the resort, while an extra reel (with photos of the resort) was stored in a pocket attached to the inside lid of the box.
This framed travel poster invited guests to their next destination: Dunn's River in Jamaica. The team of artists at GGL custom illustrated this vintage-style poster to serve as the invitation for the opening of Sandal’s newest Jamaican resort. Guests received a piece of art to mark their upcoming travel destination and all of the information they need to attend the opening.
An animated sequence of a Polaroid camera playfully printing out Save the Date info was the perfect way to announce the bat mitzvah of an 80’s-obsessed young woman.
For a young woman obsessed with the aesthetics of the 80’s we created an album sleeve that creatively held the “records” of each event. Photography by: Nathan Kanofsky
For this architectural, modern wedding at the renowned New World Center (designed by Frank Gehry), we created a lettering system and format that echoed the curves and spaces of the Symphony space. Subtle embossment and hot stamping in a hard-bound folio format helped hit the right chord of monochromatic and dramatic tone. Photography by: Gabby
Our goal with this Pre-arrival mailing was to give attendees a taste of the branding and the right tools to begin creating their own social media content. We designed a custom towel for them to pose on as if they were already lounging on a tube sipping a pina colada in the resort pool. Complete with custom printed shipping box with fun prompts on the inside lid.
This prearrival mailer was presented as a "Prep Rally" for invited guests. The six-paneled accordion-fold provided space for: itinerary and packing details, reading / listening recommendations, interactive bookmark, perforated intention sheet and envelope to house them, and sparklers to ignite a creative spark. As a teaser for the grand opening weekend of a property, we created a branded pocket projector adorned with custom “clue” charms and a stage to project it on. The small silver cylinder projected the save-the-date design on the inside of a fully printed shipping box, made to look like a vaudeville theatre. The custom metal charms hinted at details about the property and location. Photography by: Nathan Kanofsky
This Tunnel book invitation expands to reveal a fully dimensional stage with a cast of performers. Layers of textures and images combine to create an enchanting tableau that’s made entirely of paper. When guests opened the invitation box there was an unexpected “performance” - the soundtrack of a trailing saxophone and applause.
For this three-dimensional invitation mailer, our challenge was to relay a lot of information in a way that gets noticed and acted on. We created a paper pinwheel in its own holder that doubled as an infographic and was easy to mail. Photography by: Nathan Kanofsky.
This pre-arrival mailer offered a glimpse of the Mexican-inspired chic branding that we created. Custom travel accessories included a leather luggage with marble print, gold sunglasses etched with icon pattern, and cloisonné keychain with engraved itinerary cards. Gifts were tailored with “his" and "hers" gifts of custom cufflinks or nail decals. A clear travel pouch was packaged in a fully-printed shipping box with icon hot stamped in gold. This sturdy box was designed to look like a boom box for an invitation to an event that would be a hybrid of High Tea and Hip Hop with a nod to the location (Atlanta) and Super Bowl LIII. When opened, a hip hop welcome to Atlanta song played while a printed placesetting dropped down with event details on the linen napkin. We created the custom toile made up of imagery of hip hop, football, Atlanta and a proper tea and had custom fabric made and turned it into bow ties for the men and scrunchies

Complete with custom map, agenda, metal luggage tag, branded sharpie and sparklers. Stop action video by: Alan Wasem

For our third annual Bacon & Lox Society Dinner in a Creek, the invitation was a custom color-by-numbers kit arranged to look like a traditional dinner place setting.
